Direct Care Staff Gladwin, MI 48624 $14.50 - $16.00 an hour - Part-time, Full-time $14.50 - $16.00 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Staff to provide exceptional support and care to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, monitor their health and safety, and foster a warm, respectful environment. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning in accordance with dietary needs and care plans Maintain cleanliness of residents' living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance Document care activities accurately in resident records, including progress notes, medication logs, and incident reports Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being, especially for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease Follow safety procedures diligently during patient transfers, heavy lifting, or emergency situations such as CPR or first aid response Collaborate with team members to develop and implement personalized care plans aligned with each resident's needs Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is preferred Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, and hospice care is highly desirable Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate medical equipment like Hoyer lifts effectively Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in condition Excellent communication skills to interact compassionately with residents, families, and team members Valid experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities preferred Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all safety protocols under HIPAA regulations Join our team as a Direct Care Staff member where your dedication will directly impact the quality of life for those you serve.
