Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Direct Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities and autism in a residential setting. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients by delivering personalized care and assistance. This role requires a strong understanding of direct support techniques, behavior management, and patient care practices. Responsibilities Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities and autism in daily living activities. Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring adherence to established guidelines. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Employ behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and reduce challenging behaviors. Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any incidents in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Lift and assist clients as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort during transfers. Foster a supportive environment that encourages independence while providing necessary assistance. Experience Previous experience in direct support or assisted living environments is preferred. Familiarity with working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is highly desirable. Knowledge of behavior management techniques and patient care practices is essential. Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and care documentation is required. Ability to lift clients safely and provide physical assistance as needed. A compassionate demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are crucial for success in this role.
