Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Private Caregiver to provide personalized, high-quality care to individuals in their homes or community settings. Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe changes in health status, reporting any concerns promptly. Administer medication according to care plans and ensure proper documentation while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences, supporting overall health and wellness. Support mobility through manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lift transfers and patient transfer methods to promote safety. Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful activities to enhance mental well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces. Assist with transportation for appointments or errands using personal transportation assistance skills. Follow care plans meticulously while collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Support clients with specialized needs such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or senior care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes. Strong patient observation skills with the ability to monitor vital signs and recognize early signs of health deterioration. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient monitoring techniques. Familiarity with care equipment including Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods for manual handling safety. Experience working with residents who have dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other neurodegenerative conditions requiring specialized memory care. Ability to perform first aid and CPR confidently in emergency situations; certification preferred. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams; understanding of HIPAA compliance is essential. Capable of heavy lifting when necessary while maintaining safety standards during patient transfers or mobility assistance. Home health experience combined with caregiving skills that emphasize compassion and professionalism in home & community care settings. Knowledge of creating and following detailed care plans tailored to individual needs across various healthcare environments including hospice or long-term care facilities.
