Able to make a year-long or semester-long commitment to helping a disabled child? Able to drive, bike, swim, and be physically active? Paid training and mileage compensation Multiple positions available starting immediately Our seven year old boy needs help with daily living skills through the Medicaid Children's Waiver. Community Living Support (CLS) and Respite services will be running for him all days of the week, and you will be working directly with him in 3-4 hour blocks. Our son loves gymnastics, painting, playing in water, swinging, and bike rides, so it is necessary that you be able to be physically active. He requires constant vigilance in order to keep him safe, and since he has limited speech he needs help communicating and navigating the world. He is a very joyful child who takes delight in many things, but he needs a calm and steady presence by his side. People of all genders and ages (18+) are welcome to apply. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, that is, how well you will get along with our son and us, as you will be working a lot in our home. We are looking for 2-4 helpers. At least one position will be fixed weekend hours, and one position will be fixed weekday hours. A morning shift of 3-4 hours on all days, as well as regular afternoons, and occasional evenings. On this job you will make life shine for a child who needs help and guidance at all times. You will be the link between him and the bigger world, doing what he can't, teaching him new things, and protecting his life and joy.
