Saline, MI Job description: We are looking for kind, dependable people to join our small support team helping our 35-year-old son, Daniel, in our family home in Saline. Daniel is a gentle, good-natured man with autism who enjoys music, movies, relaxing activities, animals, and spending time with people who are patient, calm, and encouraging. He needs support with daily routines and companionship at home, with the long-term goal of helping him gradually reconnect with enjoyable community activities like the library, local parks, restaurants, and the Saline Rec Center. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys meaningful one-on-one work and wants to truly make a difference in another person's life. No prior experience with autism or special needs is required — we will provide training. What matters most is kindness, patience, reliability, emotional maturity, and a caring attitude.WHAT THE JOB LOOKS LIKE
Responsibilities may include: Providing companionship and friendly social interaction Helping with daily routines and structure Assisting with light household tasks related to Daniel's care Meal prep and medication reminders Supporting enjoyable activities at home and eventually in the community Using calm redirection and supportive communication techniques when needed Helping create a peaceful, positive environment This is not a high-pressure medical setting. Most shifts are calm and home-based. We're Looking forSomeone Who Is:
Patient, compassionate, and emotionally steady Dependable and responsible Comfortable working in a family home environment A good communicator and problem solver Respectful toward individuals with disabilities Comfortable around inside pets (we have cats, dogs, and birds) Willing to complete paid caregiver training courses (mostly online) Experience in caregiving, autism support, education, psychology, nursing, social work, childcare, or direct care is welcome — but not required. College students, retirees, teachers, CNAs, DSPs, paraprofessionals, and people seeking meaningful part-time work are all encouraged to apply. Schedule & Pay > $20 to $25/hour > Mileage reimbursement for Daniel-related transportation and activities > Part-time to full-time hours available > Typical shift hours fall between 8am-8pm with flexible scheduling > Especially seeking Saturday help and afternoons/evenings; after completing training some overnight shifts may be available as well We are happy to work around school schedules or other jobs when possible.
