Job Description

Our organization is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Worker to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL'S) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. Monitor and record vial signs such as blood pressure, pulse and temperature, blood sugar, to ensure residents health status is maintained. Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines. Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation. Implement behavior management strategies for individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness. Maintain a clean safe and comfortable environment by assisting with light housekeeping, meal preparation and resident hygiene. Follow safe patient handling practices to prevent injury during transfers or mobility assistance. Skills Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes or residential care homes is highly desirable Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness or cognitive impairments with patience and understanding. Proficiency in basic first aid and CPR certification to respond effectively in emergencies. Strong communication skills for engaging with residents, families,and team members. Experience operating standard passenger vans for transport needs is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently while maintaining resident safety.
