Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as an Evening Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Champlin, working Sunday through Thursday from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, cognitive impairments, and age-related conditions. As a DSP, you will provide compassionate, personalized care in a supportive environment, ensuring residents' safety, well-being, and independence. A valid driver's license is required to facilitate transportation and community outings, fostering community engagement and enriching residents' lives. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Provide medication reminders and support medication administration under supervision, ensuring safety and adherence to care plans Monitor residents' vital signs and health status, reporting any concerns promptly to nursing staff or supervisors Support residents with memory care needs such as Alzheimer's and dementia care through engaging activities and compassionate communication Operate standard passenger vehicles safely for transportation to appointments, outings, or community activities Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and ensure compliance with all resident rights and privacy regulations Engage in behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions and reduce challenging behaviors Assist with meal preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a clean living environment in accordance with health standards Foster respectful communication with residents and their families to ensure personalized care that meets individual needs Skills Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care settings is highly desirable Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and geriatrics best practices Strong understanding of medication administration protocols and vital signs monitoring Excellent client communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate documentation of care activities Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or cognitive challenges in home or community settings CPR and First Aid certification required; ongoing training encouraged for skill enhancement Ability to operate a standard passenger car confidently and safely for transportation purposes Commitment to respecting resident's rights while providing compassionate caregiving in a group home or retirement setting Join us in creating a caring environment where every individual receives the respect, support, and attention they deserve. Pay:
