A Caregiver or Personal Care Aide provides non-medical care for adults, including elderly and disabled people, typically in their own homes. Assists clients with daily tasks including bathing, medication reminders, and light housekeeping; may also provide transportation for appointments and errands. These roles do not always require formal certification.
Care Professional - Columbia, MO $15-$17/hour | Daytime & Weekend Opportunities We are growing in Columbia and looking for dependable, compassionate Care Professionals with 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Monday-Friday and open weekend availability. This isn't a role where we want someone to simply show up and complete a checklist. We're looking for Care Pros who can build a relationship, protect someone's safety, and help older adults continue living a life that feels like their own.
WHO MIGHT YOU BE SUPPORTING?
One of our Columbia clients enjoys a quiet life at home with her longtime spouse watching baseball, relaxing, going out for lunch, and spending time with friends. She is living with memory changes and significant balance concerns. She's conversational and engaged, but does best when someone slows things down, gives one simple direction at a time, and doesn't overwhelm or rush her. Her biggest need is safety. She experiences dizziness, uses a walker, and has a history of falls. Her ideal Care Pro is calm, observant, patient, and comfortable staying close during mobility while still protecting her dignity and independence. Her care may also include bathing, dressing, toileting and incontinence support, meal preparation, light housekeeping, memory support, and companionship. Another Columbia client is coming home after rehabilitation with one major goal: She wants her independence back. She's social, active, loves animals, and enjoys being outdoors, gardening, walking, cards, puzzles, reading, and conversation. Her faith is important to her, and she enjoys staying connected to her community. Right now, she's frustrated by having less control over her life. She needs a Care Pro who understands that great care doesn't mean taking over. Offer choices. Get her involved. Let her do what she can safely do. Help her rebuild confidence and participate in her life. For this client, sitting quietly through the shift isn't the goal. We want someone who enjoys conversation and will help make the day meaningful.
YOU MAY BE A GREAT FIT
IF... You know how to slow down when safety requires it and motivate when independence requires it. You're comfortable with hands-on personal care, mobility and fall-prevention support, and clients experiencing memory changes. You're also someone who talks with your clients, learns what matters to them, notices changes, and understands that companionship means more than simply being in the room. And when you commit to a shift, people can count on you to be there.
