Immediate openings Availability Required We are seeking dependable caregivers who have: Open or flexible availability , and/or Overnight availability Availability to work at least one weekend shift per week Schedules may include daytime, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts based on client needs and caregiver compatibility. More About the Role You'll support seniors throughout the Columbia area, building meaningful relationships while helping them remain safe and independent at home. Many of the clients we serve are living with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia. They need more than someone who can complete a task list. They need a caregiver who is calm, patient, observant, and confident—someone who can provide comfort and stability while adapting to changing needs. Some clients enjoy conversation, music, walks, or outings. Others appreciate a familiar face, a dependable routine, and someone who treats them with dignity and respect. Overnight caregivers may help clients maintain a safe nighttime routine, provide reassurance and redirection, assist with personal care or restroom needs, and respond calmly when a client wakes or becomes confused. If memory care is where you do your best work and you're ready to provide dependable care when clients need it most, you'll find purpose here. Responsibilities Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living Support safe transfers, walking, and mobility Provide overnight supervision, reassurance, and redirection as needed Assist with toileting and nighttime routines Offer companionship and meaningful engagement Assist with hearing aids Prepare meals and follow recipes Complete light housekeeping and laundry Encourage walking, exercise, and outdoor time Support activities such as music, conversation, and community outings Observe and communicate changes or concerns to the office Arrive on time and reliably fulfill scheduled shifts Qualifications Professional caregiving experience required Strong Alzheimer's and dementia care experience preferred Experience with personal care, transfers, and walkers Comfortable supporting clients with higher care needs Able to remain alert and responsive throughout overnight shifts Able to follow recipes and prepare meals Comfortable working in homes with pets Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen Must be available to work at least one weekend shift each week Why Join Home Instead?
