Job Description
Americare Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Attendant to support residents with daily living activities in our senior community. In this resident-centered role, you will assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, and meal support while promoting dignity, comfort, and independence. You'll monitor residents' condition, document care, follow safety and infection-control procedures, and communicate changes to nursing staff. Working in a team-oriented environment, you'll build trusting relationships with residents and families and contribute to a warm, respectful home-like setting. Responsibilities Provide hands-on assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting for senior residents Support safe transfers, ambulation, and use of mobility aids while preventing falls Assist with meals, hydration, and snacks, following individual care plans and preferences Observe and report changes in residents' condition, mood, or behavior to nursing staff Follow infection control, safety, and emergency procedures at all times Maintain clean, comfortable resident rooms and common areas, including light housekeeping and laundry Document care and services provided in accordance with community policies Build respectful, trusting relationships with residents and their families Collaborate with nurses and team members to deliver resident-centered, personalized care Uphold residents' dignity, privacy, and rights in every interaction Required Skills Personal care assistance (bathing, grooming, dressing) Safe resident transfers and mobility support Vital signs monitoring and basic health observation Infection control and universal precautions Medication reminders (per policy) Documentation and charting of care provided Resident safety and fall prevention Meal assistance and hydration support Housekeeping and laundry tasks Effective communication with residents and families
