Responsibilities We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and energetic Direct Care Worker (DCW) to join our Children & Youth Division. The DCW provides direct support and supervision to children and adolescents receiving mental health services and assists them in developing the skills necessary to function successfully at home, at school, and in the community. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and youth, is patient and dependable, and can provide structure, encouragement, and positive support while maintaining professional boundaries. Essential Job Duties Provide direct care, supervision, and support to children and adolescents receiving mental health services. Assist clients with developing and practicing appropriate social, communication, behavioral, and daily living skills. Implement activities and interventions according to the client's individualized treatment plan and direction from the treatment team. Provide positive behavioral support and reinforcement of appropriate behaviors. Assist clients in identifying and practicing healthy coping skills and appropriate ways to manage emotions and behaviors. Provide structured recreational, educational, social, and skill-building activities appropriate for the client's age and developmental level. Encourage participation in activities that promote self-esteem, independence, socialization, and positive decision-making. Assist clients with activities of daily living and development of age-appropriate independent living skills when needed. Provide appropriate supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times. Monitor client behavior and communicate significant changes, concerns, incidents, or safety issues to the appropriate supervisor or treatment team member. Assist with crisis prevention and behavioral de-escalation using approved agency techniques and interventions. Maintain a calm, supportive, and structured environment for children and adolescents. Transport clients to and from activities, programs, or community-based services as assigned. Accompany clients during community activities and provide appropriate supervision and support.
