What You'll Actually Do Overnight care varies by client and care plan and may include: Personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including toileting, dressing, grooming, transfers, and mobility support Monitoring client safety and providing assistance throughout the night Dementia and Alzheimer's care, Parkinson's care, and end-of-life support, depending on the client Companionship and reassurance when a client is awake Medication reminders Meal or snack preparation and light housekeeping Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition Clear, timely documentation and communication with our care team Supporting morning routines as outlined in the client's care plan Clients are adults ages 18+ and range from short-term recovery after a hospital stay through long-term and end-of-life care. This is a 10-hour awake shift. Overnight caregivers must remain awake, attentive, and ready to respond to client needs throughout the entire shift.
