Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respite Care Provider to offer temporary relief and support to individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, dementia, and other health conditions. Responsibilities Provide attentive patient observation and monitor vital signs to ensure safety and health stability out in the community. Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods, if needed. Administer medications following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality, if needed. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed Support clients with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia through engaging activities and memory care strategies Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, medication administration, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare standards Ensure a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and organizing personal spaces in accordance with health protocols Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments preferred Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, vital signs measurement, and first aid/CPR certification required Familiarity with care for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly desirable Ability to assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and support safe patient transfers Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with team members Understanding of resident's rights, HIPAA compliance, and confidentiality standards essential Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely throughout shifts Experience in dementia care, memory care programs, hospice or geriatrics is a plus Valid driver's license or access to reliable transportation for client outings or appointments preferred Join us as a Respite Care Provider where your energy fuels positive change!
