Job Description
Personal Care Assistant Job Title Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Term of Employment 10-Month Position Full-Time (7.5-8 hours per day) Reports To Principal, Exceptional Children (EC) Director, and Assigned Teacher Nature of Work Provides direct support and supervision to students with disabilities who require assistance with personal care, mobility, health-related needs, behavioral support, and access to educational programs.
Qualifications Required:
Minimum of 48 semester hours of creditable college coursework from an accredited college or university; ability to work effectively with students with disabilities; effective communication skills.Preferred:
Experience working with children or adults with disabilities. Essential Job Duties Assist with personal care, toileting, feeding, mobility, transfers, classroom support, behavior support, safety supervision, and collaboration with staff and families. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of personal care procedures and student safety practices; ability to work effectively with students with significant disabilities; ability to maintain confidentiality. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, and transfer students, push wheelchairs, and assist with adaptive equipment. Special Requirements Successful completion of required training programs and compliance with district policies.
