Duties Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote dignity and independence Monitor patient health by checking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately in accordance with HIPAA regulations Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper timing and dosage as outlined in care plans Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary Facilitate safe patient transfers using manual handling techniques or equipment like Hoyer lifts, ensuring resident safety at all times Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning personal spaces and common areas Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients, fostering a positive environment that respects resident's rights and preferences Assist with transportation for appointments or outings using personal transportation methods or community resources Follow detailed care plans developed by nursing staff or healthcare professionals to deliver consistent, personalized care Support residents with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia through specialized memory care techniques Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely and monitor changes in health status effectively Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is preferred Knowledge of patient transfer methods, manual handling procedures, and the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts is advantageous Familiarity with care plans, medication administration protocols, and documentation standards such as HIPAA compliance is essential Certification in CNA, CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications related to dementia or hospice care are a plus Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare teams while respecting resident's rights Join us as a Part-Time Caregiver if you're passionate about providing compassionate support that truly transforms lives.
