Duties Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, noting changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals promptly. Support medication administration following established care plans and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines to ensure privacy and safety. Help with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met while accommodating dietary restrictions. Facilitate patient transfer methods using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer techniques to promote mobility and safety. Maintain a clean environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring hygiene standards are upheld in resident areas. Provide emotional support through effective client communication, active listening, and companionship to foster trust and well-being. Requirements Prior experience working with individuals in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to support diverse needs. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers safely and effectively. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; ongoing training in patient monitoring and emergency response is advantageous. Familiarity with care plans, medication administration procedures, HIPAA regulations, patient personal care assistance, and resident's rights ensures compliance with healthcare standards. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities support is a plus.
