Personal Care Assistant in a classroom for
Exceptional Children Lenoir County Schools Part-Time or Full-Time Job Title:
Personal Care Assistant (PCA) /
EC Aide Reports To:
Principal / Exceptional Children Teacher / School Nurse Job Summary Provides 1-on-1 or small-group personal care and mobility support to students with special needs, physical disabilities, or complex health conditions throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities Personal Care:
Assist students with daily living needs, including toileting, diapering, feeding, hygiene, and transfers.
Student Support:
Accompany assigned student(s) in classrooms, recess, cafeteria, and during bus loading/unloading.
Behavior & Safety:
Implement IEP support strategies, maintain visual supervision, and ensure student safety.
Health & Logging:
Help monitor student well-being and track daily care routines following FERPA privacy rules.
Requirements & Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or
GED Certifications:
Current CPR/First Aid certification (CNA listing a plus).
Clearances:
Pass background check, drug screening, and TB health test.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift, transfer, and position students.
