Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a PRN (as-needed) Direct Support Staff at our Therapeutic Group Home, where your compassionate care and energetic approach will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, and other special needs. This flexible position offers you the opportunity to provide personalized support, promote independence, and foster a safe, nurturing environment. Your role will be vital in assisting residents with daily activities, medication management, and engaging in enriching social and recreational activities. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document all medication administration accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Monitor residents' vital signs regularly and report any health changes promptly to supervisory staff Provide compassionate Alzheimer's and dementia care by implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques Support residents in meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining proper nutrition while ensuring a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and mental stimulation Maintain detailed documentation of resident progress, incidents, and care provided while adhering to all safety protocols and confidentiality standards Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly desirable Knowledge of caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory care needs Certification or experience in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified Ability to assist with ADLs using proper techniques and safety procedures including Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and team members Valid driver's license for transportation duties related to community outings or appointments Experience working with EMR systems for documentation purposes Join us in creating a supportive atmosphere where residents feel valued and cared for!
