Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of daily living care. In this vital role, you will help enhance the quality of life for residents by delivering personalized care, ensuring safety, and promoting independence. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and dignity. Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate care records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support medication administration and help implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding while adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment through regular cleaning duties and infection control practices. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer devices to safely assist with mobility and heavy lifting tasks. Provide companionship and emotional support, especially for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other memory-related conditions. Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is desirable. Ability to work with individuals with autism or disabilities while demonstrating patience and empathy. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks and assist residents with mobility using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and reporting any health concerns promptly. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, patients, and families.
