Pearls of Tarboro Group Home LLC Male Group Home Worker / Direct Care Staff Position Summary The Male Group Home Worker is responsible for providing direct care, supervision, guidance, and support to male residents in a group home setting. The employee will help maintain a safe, structured, clean, and supportive environment while assisting residents with daily routines, personal care, behavior management, activities, and life-skills development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide continuous supervision and support to residents according to their individual care plans and house rules. Maintain a safe, respectful, and structured environment for all residents. Assist residents with daily routines, including hygiene, bathing, dressing, meals, bedtime, and other activities of daily living as needed. Monitor residents' behavior and provide appropriate redirection and positive reinforcement. Follow each resident's individualized service plan, behavioral support plan, and other assigned programming. Assist residents with homework, educational activities, recreational activities, and life-skills development. Transport or accompany residents to approved appointments, school activities, community outings, and recreational activities when assigned. Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to the posted menu and dietary requirements. Maintain cleanliness of bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, common areas, and other assigned areas. Complete resident laundry and assist residents with keeping their personal areas organized. Complete required shift documentation, including daily notes, behavior documentation, sleep charts, incident reports, and other required records. Perform required safety checks and monitor residents throughout the shift. Follow medication procedures and only perform medication-related duties for which the employee has been properly trained and authorized. Follow emergency procedures, fire safety procedures, infection-control requirements, and all facility policies. Report accidents, injuries, behavioral concerns, suspected abuse or neglect, medication concerns, property damage, or other significant incidents immediately to the appropriate manager. Maintain confidentiality regarding residents and their personal information. Communicate important information to the incoming staff and shift manager before leaving the shift. Follow all instructions provided by the Director, Qualified Professional, and Shift Manager. Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education. Maintain professional boundaries with residents and coworkers. Treat every resident with dignity, respect, patience, and professionalism. Perform other duties related to the safe and effective operation of the group home as assigned. Staff Expectations Employees are expected to: Arrive on time and be prepared to work their scheduled shift. Remain attentive and actively supervise residents while on duty. Follow the posted schedule, menus, routines, and house expectations. Keep personal cell-phone use to a minimum and never allow personal activities to interfere with resident supervision. Maintain a clean and professional appearance. Never use physical punishment, threats, intimidation, or inappropriate language toward residents. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times. Immediately report safety concerns or policy violations. Work cooperatively with managers and other staff members. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience working with children, adolescents, developmental disabilities, behavioral health, residential care, or group homes is preferred. Must successfully complete required background checks and pre-employment screening. Must complete all required facility and regulatory training. Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, managers, and other professionals. Must be dependable, responsible, patient, and able to work as part of a team. Must be physically able to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Valid driver's license may be required for positions involving transportation. Work Environment This position is performed in a residential group home setting and requires direct interaction with residents throughout the assigned shift. Staff may be required to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays depending on the facility's staffing schedule.

Pay:

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
