Job Description

The Autism Center of Nebraska, Inc. (ACN) is looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to become a Shared Living Provider (SLP) in the York area. Our SLP's provide a home where an individual who has a developmental disability would live. The SLP is paid to support the individual and is responsible for teaching a variety of independent living skills such as maintaining the home, meal preparation, grocery shopping, proper hygiene, and assisting the individual in participating in community activities. This position also involves documentation, medication administration, doctor's visits and transportation. ACN's goal is to match the individual with a SLP where there is an excellent chance for success and a long-term relationship to be established. The residence of the prospective SLP is assessed to ensure not only a comfortable but safe environment. Be 19 years or older Be able to pass a background test Be able to work in the United States Have 3 years of experience working with the Developmentally Disabled community Have reliable transportation Have car and homeowner or rental insurance
