At least one month, with the opportunity to continue longer New Jersey-area candidates strongly preferred Exceptional Care Group is seeking an experienced and dependable New Jersey Certified Homemaker-Home Health Aide (CHHA) for an immediate live-in assignment in a private home. The caregiver must be available for at least one month. Candidates interested in continuing longer are welcome. The family is prepared to meet and orient qualified candidates promptly. About the Assignment The caregiver will assist a couple with their daily routine. Primary hands-on care will be provided to an adult female client with a history of stroke. She weighs approximately 150 pounds, uses a wheelchair, and requires substantial assistance with transfers and personal care. She has limited verbal communication but understands what is happening around her and participates in her care. She also has a PEG tube that is not currently used for feeding. The most important requirement is the ability to perform safe transfers, including: Transfers out of bed and into a wheelchair Wheelchair and toilet transfers Transfers into and out of a vehicle for appointments Repositioning and mobility assistance Qualified candidates must attend an in-person orientation in Barnegat and demonstrate their transfer skills before beginning the assignment. Responsibilities Assist with bed, wheelchair, toilet, and vehicle transfers Use safe body mechanics and follow the established transfer routine Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene Prepare meals and provide feeding assistance Provide wheelchair and mobility assistance Accompany the client to appointments as arranged Provide companionship and safety supervision Assist the couple with their established household routine Perform light housekeeping related to the client's care Observe and report changes or concerns to the RN/care coordinator Maintain respectful and professional communication with the client and family Requirements Current New Jersey CHHA certification Recent hands-on experience assisting wheelchair-dependent clients Strong experience with bed, toilet, wheelchair, and vehicle transfers Comfortable assisting a client weighing approximately 150 pounds Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Available to begin as soon as this week Able to commit to the live-in assignment for at least one month Able to attend an in-person orientation and transfer assessment in Barnegat Dependable, patient, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently Able to communicate effectively in English Experience with stroke care, live-in caregiving, and clients requiring substantial assistance with activities of daily living is strongly preferred. Compensation $225 per day The sleeping arrangements, daily routine, scheduled breaks, overnight expectations, appointment needs, and relief coverage will be reviewed before the assignment begins. Exceptional Care Group is RN-led. The caregiver will have a direct point of contact for care coordination, questions, and changes in the client's condition.
