Job Description

We are a small Christian preschool in Basking Ridge, NJ and we are expanding. We are looking for an Full Time Infant Caregiver who loves to play, have fun and really has a heart for children, to see them grow and develop in all aspects of their lives. You will be working with our Infants ages 6 weeks to 18 months old. Must love bubbles, story time, singing, playing and taking long walks on our park like setting. Prior experience nannying, daycare or babysitting preferred. This is a Full Time position, Monday to Friday What we offer our employees: We are a company that values and cares about its employees. Must be able to do the following: Communicate effectively with children, their parents, and other staff. Demonstrate skills to properly address the developmental needs of Infant to preschool-age children. Be a team player and work in a team environment. Safely pick up children weighing up to 30 lbs. in order to dress, diaper, or help the children. Be able to change diapers or assist children in using the bathroom. Take walks and participate in outdoor and indoor play - you must love being outside. Be able to walk, squat/kneel, sit on the floor, see, hear, speak with children to ensure children's health and safety. Use cleaning supplies to keep the environment clean and keep the children safe and healthy.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Promotes feelings of security and trust in the classroom. Greet each child and their parents warmly and with enthusiasm each morning. Engage the children throughout the day in activities such as reading, singing, dramatic play, large motor, and art. Facilitate a learning environment that encourages each child at his or her individual level. Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order. Maintain a well-organized, safe, and attractive classroom environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children. Completes timely, neat, accurate documentation of, attendance, feedings, daily activity logs for parents, and other documentation as may be deemed necessary for proving quality services. Maintains a safe, clean, caregiving environment, practices good personal hygiene and handwashing, and assures the well-being and safety of all of the children in that environment. Maintains a positive and calm attitude even in a stressful situation. Provide for the physical safety of each child from arrival time until departure time. Observes children to detect signs of illness, injury, abuse, neglect, emotional disturbance, or other special needs, and reports these signs immediately to the center director or person in charge. Attends all training opportunities and staff meetings as provided and scheduled. Performs any other tasks deemed necessary by the center director. Candidates should have a good understanding of early childhood development, the ability to work with young children warmly and maintain positive relationships with children, co-workers, and parents. '
