Full Job Description Description:

Position Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP) works other day program personnel in instituting a therapeutic program to help clients develop and maintain functional life skills, activities for daily living, and community-based exploration skills. DSPs are also responsible for helping facilitate the client's daily schedule while following all policies and procedures required by NB4T.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Collaborate in the development and execution of lessons tailored to clients' daily living and independence objectives, ensuring alignment with their individual goals.
• Engage clients directly to bolster their proficiency in essential daily living skills, fostering independence and self-reliance.
• Deploy effective behavior management techniques to cultivate a positive and conducive environment, encouraging desirable behaviors.
• Actively engage clients in community, social, and recreational pursuits to broaden their experiences and social interactions.
• Uphold safety protocols to sustain a secure and hygienic environment for clients.
• Offer crisis intervention support as needed, meticulously documenting incidents in accordance with Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) standards to maintain transparency and accountability.
• Maintain comprehensive and precise records of services rendered and individual progress achieved, facilitating informed decision-making and personalized support.
• Attend and actively contribute to all scheduled meetings and trainings, remaining abreast of developments and best practices in the field.
• Safely transport clients to and from the program, demonstrating care and responsibility on the road.
• Provide personalized assistance to clients as required, demonstrating attentiveness and sensitivity to their unique needs and circumstances.
• Exhibit a commitment to personal and professional development, continuously seeking opportunities for growth.
• Fulfill any additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the overall success of the program.
