Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Respite Care Provider to support individuals with developmental disabilities and their families throughout Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean counties. This role provides short-term, person-centered care designed to give primary caregivers a break while ensuring the individual receives safe, respectful, and engaging support. The ideal candidate will be reliable, patient, and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others. Responsibilities
  • Provide in-home and community-based respite care to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Support with daily routines, supervision, and companionship
  • Encourage participation in recreational and social activities
  • Assist with personal care needs as assigned
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of each individual at all times
  • Follow the individual's care plan and agency guidelines
  • Document services and communicate updates to supervisors and families as needed
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and clear communication Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior experience in caregiving, direct support, respite care, or human services preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel within Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean counties
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, dependability, and a caring attitude
  • Ability to pass background checks and required onboarding requirements Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Knowledge of person-centered support
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to different client needs Benefits
