Job Summary:

The Care Worker will supervise and support students on school premises before and after regular school hours. This role involves fostering a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where children can thrive socially and academically. The ideal candidate is patient, caring, and attentive to the needs of school-aged children.

General Responsibilities:

Supervision and Safety:

Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the program. Monitor and manage children during indoor and outdoor activities. Implement and enforce school and program rules to maintain a safe and respectful environment.

Engagement and Interaction:

Facilitate and engage children in recreational and educational activities, including games, arts and crafts, and homework assistance. Encourage positive social interactions and conflict resolution among students.

Communication and Reporting:

Communicate incidents, injuries or safety concerns to parents/guardians. Report any incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to program supervisors and document as required.

Program Support:

Assist in setting up and cleaning up program spaces. Collaborate with colleagues to plan and organize activities that meet the developmental needs of the children. Follow established schedules, routines, and guidelines set by the school or program director.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; relevant coursework in education or child Experience working with children in a school, daycare, or similar setting is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to remain calm and handle challenging situations with professionalism. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Must pass a background check as required by the school/district (if 18+-years-old).

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and engage in physical activities with children for extended periods. Capacity to lift and move equipment or supplies up to 30 pounds.
