Nanny / Household Assistant - Position Description We are seeking a caring, patient, dependable, and responsible nanny to provide attentive care for our young child, preferably someone with experience caring for infants and toddlers around 1 year old . The ideal candidate will be nurturing, energetic, trustworthy, and comfortable creating a safe, positive, and educational environment for a young child. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and can become a reliable part of our household. Primary Responsibilities Childcare & Development Supervise and ensure the child's safety at all times. Change diapers and assist with potty training as appropriate. Prepare bottles, meals, and healthy snacks. Feed the child and clean up after meals. Assist with nap and bedtime routines. Engage the child in age-appropriate educational activities, reading, play, music, and learning. Help encourage early communication, motor skills, social development, and independence. Have some teaching ability and be comfortable incorporating learning into the child's daily routine. Maintain a clean and organized environment around the child. Pick up toys, clothing, and other items related to the child throughout the day. Language Skills - Required The ideal candidate should be fluent in English, American Sign Language (ASL) and Spanish . Knowledge of Jamaican Patois is also highly preferred, as it may be used occasionally in the household. Household Responsibilities In addition to childcare, the nanny will assist with light household duties, including: Washing and putting away dishes. Cleaning and maintaining the kitchen. Cleaning and maintaining bathrooms. General tidying and organization of the home. Keeping the child's areas, toys, and belongings organized. Cleaning up after the child and maintaining a comfortable household environment. Qualifications & Requirements Previous professional experience caring for infants or toddlers is strongly preferred. CPR and First Aid certification is required. Must be patient, dependable, trustworthy, attentive, and responsible. Must have excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable working independently and following household routines and instructions. Must have a flexible schedule and be available for occasional on-call or last-minute childcare needs . Must be willing to complete a background check prior to employment. Reliable transportation is preferred. Strong references from previous childcare or household positions are preferred. Personal Qualities We are looking for someone who is kind, respectful, patient, nurturing, trustworthy, and family-oriented . Someone who values good character, responsibility, and creating a positive environment for a child is especially encouraged to apply. A candidate who is comfortable with and respectful of a faith-based household is preferred. Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 3.0 - 15.0 per week
