Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Older Adult Companion to provide personalized support and companionship to seniors in various care settings. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for older adults by offering emotional support, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring their safety and well-being. This paid position offers an opportunity to work closely with individuals requiring diverse levels of care, including those with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other neurodevelopmental disabilities. Responsibilities Provide engaging companionship to older adults, fostering social interaction and mental stimulation. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Support medication reminders and monitor vital signs as needed, adhering to care plans and resident rights. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption while respecting dietary restrictions. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols like HIPAA regulations. Support residents' participation in community activities or outings using personal transportation assistance when necessary. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to provide patient care, including assisting with ADLs and patient personal care assistance. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice care practices is advantageous. Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is a plus. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques such as vital signs measurement and medication administration is desirable. Proven ability to follow care plans accurately while respecting resident's rights and confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
