Responsibilities Provide attentive supervision and care for children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, learning, and socialization. Ensure the safety of children at all times by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns that arise during care. Support children with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, dressing, and nap times while respecting individual needs and preferences. Apply behavior management techniques to foster positive behavior and emotional regulation among children. Maintain current certifications in First Aid and CPR to respond effectively to emergencies. Follow mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting incidents or concerns related to child welfare as required by law. Collaborate with team members to develop individualized care plans that meet each child's developmental needs. Qualifications Prior experience working with children across various age groups, including infants and preschoolers. Demonstrated experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; ongoing training is encouraged. Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration. Ability to plan engaging activities tailored to children's developmental stages and interests. Familiarity with behavior management strategies suitable for young children. Experience working in daycare settings or providing babysitting services is advantageous. Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare is essential.
