Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Respite Specialist to join our Respite Care Home team. Duties Provide direct support to residents during scheduled respite periods, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility. Assist with medication administration following HIPAA regulations and care plans developed by healthcare professionals. Support residents with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met while respecting individual preferences and dietary restrictions. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols. Document care activities accurately in compliance with agency policies and state regulations; update care plans as needed. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer's care. Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, HIPAA compliance training, and training in assisted living or hospice care are preferred. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for resident transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory care needs is a plus.
