Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, promptly reporting concerns to healthcare professionals. Administer medications accurately following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption if necessary. Support residents or clients with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia through specialized memory care techniques and personalized engagement strategies. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings while ensuring safety during transfers using proper patient transfer methods. Document all care activities thoroughly in compliance with healthcare standards and client rights policies. Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to develop and follow individualized care plans that support each person's unique needs. Engage in ongoing training related to first aid, CPR, hospice care, autism support, developmental disabilities, and other specialized caregiving skills. Qualifications Prior experience working as a caregiver in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely and monitor vital signs accurately. Knowledge of patient personal care assistance techniques including assisting with ADLs and manual handling procedures such as heavy lifting and patient transfers. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and HIPAA compliance standards. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Ability to perform light housekeeping duties while maintaining professionalism and compassion at all times.
