In this energetic and rewarding role, you will provide essential assistance to residents in various care settings, promoting independence, dignity, and well-being. Your dedication will help create a warm, safe, and respectful environment where each individual feels valued and cared for. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while making a positive impact on the community. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to nursing staff Support medication administration following care plans and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed Provide emotional support through active communication, companionship, and engagement tailored to residents' preferences and needs Assist with transportation for appointments or community outings using appropriate personal transportation methods Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred Demonstrated ability to observe patients carefully and recognize changes in condition or behavior Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental or developmental disabilities is advantageous Experience with patient monitoring, medication assistance, manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts, and patient transfer techniques is desirable Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with assisting residents with mobility challenges Compassionate attitude with a commitment to respecting residents' rights and promoting their independence Must be able to pass a required background check and drug screening Join us in delivering exceptional care that enriches lives!
