As a caregiver, you will be at the forefront of promoting independence, safety, and well-being for those under your care. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will help create a warm, supportive environment where clients feel valued and respected every day. Responsibilities Provide attentive personal care assistance, including helping with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Assist with medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary. Support clients with mobility using proper patient transfer methods and equipment such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces. Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering positive communication and engagement to enhance overall well-being. Requirements Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response procedures including CPR and first aid certification. Familiarity with specialized care for residents with memory care needs or hospice requirements; experience working with autism or developmental disabilities is highly valued. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting when necessary for patient transfers or mobility assistance. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA standards. Flexibility to work during daytime hours on a consistent schedule; a compassionate attitude combined with proactive problem-solving skills is essential for success in this role.
