This role involves providing direct care and support to youth in a safe, nurturing environment. The Youth Care Worker plays a vital part in fostering positive development, stability, and well-being for the young residents. This position is essential for creating a supportive atmosphere where youth can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Responsibilities Provide daily care and supervision for youth in the foster group home, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Engage with residents through activities that promote personal growth, social skills, and emotional resilience. Assist with implementing individualized care plans tailored to each youth's needs and goals. Support youth in their daily routines, including meal preparation, hygiene, homework assistance, and recreational activities. Monitor behavior and intervene appropriately to de-escalate conflicts or challenging situations. Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, progress notes, and other relevant records. Collaborate with team members, foster families, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Foster a respectful and positive environment that encourages trust and open communication with residents. Participate in ongoing training and team meetings to enhance skills and stay informed about best practices in youth care. Qualifications Prior experience working with youth or in a caregiving role is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect empathetically with young people from diverse backgrounds. Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members. Basic knowledge of safety procedures and behavior management techniques.
