Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Caregiving Assistant in an assisted living environment, where your compassion and hands-on support will make a meaningful difference in residents' lives. In this role, you will provide personalized care to seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Monitor residents' health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate care plans. Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care protocols. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service. Use proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safety during mobility assistance. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met. Provide compassionate emotional support, engage residents in social activities, and promote mental well-being through meaningful interaction. Document resident progress accurately and communicate effectively with team members regarding care updates or concerns. Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice care is advantageous. Ability to assist with complex patient needs using specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of resident information. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications like medication administration or manual handling are a plus. Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, developmental disabilities, or autism is beneficial. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members while providing personalized support.
