Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic DSP/Caregiver to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional care to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will support residents with daily activities, promote independence, and foster a safe, nurturing environment. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Provide specialized care for individuals with cognitive disabilities, employing behavior management strategies Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and safety protocols Support individuals during meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition and hydration Practice safe patient lifting techniques and manual handling to prevent injury for both residents and caregivers Maintain a clean and organized environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks like cleaning and laundry Communicate effectively with individuals' families and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed Requirements Prior experience in a DODD is highly preferred Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training is encouraged Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous Strong interpersonal skills to connect empathetically with residents and their families Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely throughout shifts Long-term care or home & community care experience is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidates Join us in creating a warm, supportive environment where every individual feels cared for and appreciated.
