A Caregiver or Personal Care Aide provides non-medical care for adults, including elderly and disabled people, typically in their own homes. Assists clients with daily tasks including bathing, medication reminders, and light housekeeping; may also provide transportation for appointments and errands. These roles do not always require formal certification.

In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the STNA/Resident Assistant Caregiver provides for the personal care needs of residents and provides assistance and activities as delegated by the nurse.
Requirements:
High school education or equivalent Ohio State Tested Certified Nursing Assistant STNA (if hired as a STNA) Experience within assisted living or memory care facility preferred Reliable transportation Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance. Possesses the necessary dexterity to feed, bathe, etc. Possesses the ability to bend, stoop, and reach at different angles. Walks, stands, and sits intermittently throughout the day. Well-lighted, well-ventilated rooms and halls. Must understand infection control performance. Must be able to utilize therapeutic communication. Must communicate professionally and with empathy to residents, families, visitors and coworkers Required to make independent decisions. Required to assist in response to emergency situations.
