Edmond, OK Pay:
$15.00-17.00 per hour Position Overview We are seeking a dependable, patient, and compassionate part-time caregiver to assist an my father with early-stage dementia. The ideal candidate will provide companionship, help maintain a safe and comfortable home, prepare meals, and handle routine household responsibilities. This position is best suited for someone who is trustworthy, attentive, organized, and comfortable working independently in a private home. Responsibilities Provide companionship and supportive supervision Assist with daily routines and provide gentle reminders Monitor the individual's general well-being and communicate any concerns to the family Prepare nutritious meals and snacks Complete grocery shopping and household errands as needed Perform general household cleaning and organization Wash, dry, fold, and put away laundry Change bed linens and maintain a clean living environment Wash dishes and keep the kitchen clean Take out trash and complete other routine household chores Provide medication reminders as directed by the family Assist with appointments, transportation, or outings when requested Encourage appropriate activities, conversation, and light exercise Help maintain a consistent, calm, and safe daily routine Qualifications Previous caregiving, senior care, memory care, or dementia-care experience preferred CNA certification is preferred but not required Patient, compassionate, dependable, and respectful Able to cook and complete routine household cleaning Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable working with an individual experiencing memory loss Valid driver's license, dependable transportation, and proof of insurance Able to pass a background check Non-smoker preferred CPR and First Aid certification preferred Schedule Approximately 20 hours per week. The specific days and hours can be discussed during the interview. (Day Time Hours) Some flexibility may be needed for appointments or changes in the individual's routine. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who will treat our family member with dignity, patience, and kindness. Reliability is extremely important. The right person will take initiative with household responsibilities while also creating a positive and reassuring environment.
