Job Description

Overview We are currently seeking day shift (6AM-6PM) and Overnight shift (6PM-6AM). We are heavily focused on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Excel Academy offers a unique 3 days on, 4 days off schedule with set work days agreed upon at hire and will not change unless a schedule change is submitted at your request. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in their daily activities and promoting their independence. Your commitment to patient care and your ability to create a supportive environment will be vital in enhancing the quality of life for those you serve. Duties As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include: Assisting clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Providing patient observation and monitoring vital signs to ensure the health and safety of residents. Implementing care plans and assisting with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals. Supporting individuals in community integration and participation in social activities. Maintaining a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning and organization tasks. Documenting client progress and any changes in behavior or health status while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Experience Ideal candidates will possess:
Experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or similar environments. Familiarity with caregiving practices, including home health care and hospice care. Skills in cooking and meal preparation tailored to individual dietary needs. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities. Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred. A background in social work or long-term care is advantageous but not required.
