Job Description

Chestnut Care is looking for dependable, compassionate, and responsible Care Staff to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and/or mental health challenges. This is a rewarding position for someone who enjoys helping others, encouraging independence, and creating a positive and supportive home environment. Responsibilities Provide direct care, supervision, and companionship to residents Assist with activities of daily living, personal care, and basic life skills Administer and document medications according to current orders and company procedures Prepare meals and snacks while following resident preferences and dietary requirements Assist with housekeeping, laundry, and general household tasks Support residents with hobbies, appointments, social activities, and community outings Monitor residents' health, safety, behavior, and overall well-being Complete daily notes, incident reports, behavior/ADL tracking, and other required documentation Follow individual Plans of Care and communicate resident needs or concerns to the Residential Manager Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Compassionate, dependable, and responsible Able to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and decision-making skills Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Reliable transportation to and from work Professional references required Previous caregiving or I/DD experience is a plus, but training is provided Expectations Staff must remain awake and attentive throughout their shift, maintain resident confidentiality, follow medication and safety procedures, arrive on time, and limit personal phone use to scheduled breaks.
