Direct Care Staff (Part Time& On call)-CLAUDIA HOUSE Claudia House - 5.0 Portland, OR Job Details Part-time $20 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Driver's License First Aid Certification Direct support Personal transportation assistance Food preparation Passenger pickup and drop-off Full Job Description Claudia House is seeking dependable and flexible Direct Care Staff to support young adults in our residential Independent Living Program. This is a part-time position with a minimum of 16 hours per week guaranteed , with opportunities for additional hours based on program needs and staff availability. Work may include transportation assignments, after-hours support, swing or overnight coverage, weekend coverage, and other direct-care and residential responsibilities. Responsibilities Provide safe and reliable transportation for youth to important appointments and activities. Provide after-hours and evening transportation when needed. Provide supervision and support to youth in the residence. Cover swing, overnight, weekend, and other shifts when regular staff are unavailable. Respond to unexpected staffing needs and call-outs. Support youth with daily routines, independent-living skills, household responsibilities, and program expectations. Encourage and support youth participation in employment, education, appointments, and other goals. Help maintain a safe, clean, respectful, and positive residential environment. Prepare meals, cook, or assist youth with cooking and meal preparation. Assist with cleaning, organizing, arranging, and maintaining common areas and the residence. Assist with outdoor tasks, including basic yard work and maintaining outdoor areas. Assist with errands and other routine residential activities as appropriate. Communicate important information and concerns to the Program Manager or designated staff. Complete required shift documentation and other program records. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality. Follow Claudia House policies, safety procedures, and applicable program requirements. Schedule & Availability This is a part-time position with a minimum of 16 hours per week guaranteed . The schedule may vary based on program needs and may include transportation assignments, evening or after-hours support, swing shifts, overnight shifts, weekends, and coverage for staff absences. The successful candidate must be flexible and able to respond to short-notice requests for transportation or shift coverage when available and needed. Additional hours may be available beyond the guaranteed 20 hours based on program needs. Requirements Valid driver's license and clean/acceptable driving record . Comfortable and experienced driving throughout the Portland metropolitan area and navigating to different locations. Reliable vehicle and ability to safely transport youth. Ability to respond to short-notice transportation and staffing needs . Ability to work independently and follow program expectations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations. Ability to successfully pass a background check and meet clearance requirements of the Oregon Youth Authority (OYA). CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain as required. Experience working with youth, young adults, residential programs, social services, or a related field preferred.
