Position:

Relief House Staff - 2 Shifts one is Swing (35 Hours) other is Graveyard (33 Hours) Reports to:

Program Supervisor Classification:

Part-Time Hourly Rate of pay : $18.00 to $18.50 an hour, depending on experience. Graveyard position will pay an additional $1 per hour differential This is a position for a women's shelter. Women staff are preferred and 21 and older Swing Shift Monday to Wednesday 3pm to 10pm Thursday to Friday 4pm to 11pm Graveyard Monday/Tuesday 10pm to 9 am Tuesday/Wednesday 10pm to 9 am Wednesday/Thursday 10pm to 9 am

ABOUT SAFE HAVEN

Safe Haven Maternity Home is a nonprofit organization established in 1992 to provide a safe home environment that inspires and provides resources to pregnant women and mothers with babies in crisis. Over the last 32 years Safe Haven has helped over 900 Women and babies. Our services extend to all women regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, mental or physical challenges or inability to pay. Safe Haven's goal is for every resident to successfully transition from living in the Safe Haven home to independent living in their own home as responsible parents and contributing members in their community. We not only offer a safe home environment for both mother and baby through our Residency Program, but we also offer needed parenting and personal development classes through our Life Skills Program. We also assist mothers with nutritional planning in our Healthy Life Style Program and reliable rides in our Transportation Program. When women graduate our program, they received ongoing support through our After Care Program. Safe Haven staff help support the women in the program.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee daily residents' operations Maintain safety and confidentiality of all residents Maintain compliance with State requirements/regulations Maintain house rules and guidelines set forth by the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors Support the Mission Statement of Safe Haven Maternity Home

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Provide transportation as needed Supervise household chores, meal preparations of residents and/or assist Housekeeping as needed and/or directed by Program Supervisor. Defrost freezers/refrigerators, sort and/or organize donations, supply and blessings closets Follow any tasks assigned by the Program Supervisor and/ or Executive Director Attend ongoing training (at least 2 per year) as approved or directed by Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with at-risk population Working knowledge of community services and programs Current/valid Oregon Driver's license (or within 30 days of hire) and proof of insurance Provide a DMV driving record Current Food Handlers card (or within 30 days of hire) Must pass a criminal background check Must be able to pass a Drug Test including Marijuana Must be able to lift 30 lbs If you want more information on the work of Safe Haven and this job, email the director Evie Kumar call 541-464-2740.
