Description FirstLight Home Care of the South Hills is hiring in-home caregivers to support older adults and others who want to stay safely at home across the South Hills of Pittsburgh and northern Washington County (Canonsburg, Peters, Cecil, Upper St. Clair, Bethel Park, Mt. Lebanon, and nearby communities). This is non-medical home care. You work one-to-one in the client's house following a written care plan. Some clients need hands-on personal care. Others mainly need a reliable person for companionship, meals, and household help. Office is in Canonsburg; the work site is the client's home and varies by assignment.

Pay:

Starting at $17.00 per hour, based on experience, credentials, and shift. Mileage reimbursement when transporting clients. Weekly payroll. W-2 employee.

Schedule:

Full-time, part-time, and per-diem. Mornings, days, evenings, overnights, and weekends. Hours follow the care plan. What you will do Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care when the care plan requires it

Help with walking, transferring, and use of a walker or wheelchair

Prepare meals and snacks; assist with eating if needed

Give medication reminders (this is not skilled nursing)

Light housekeeping, laundry, and keeping the home safe

Drive clients to local appointments, errands, church, or shopping when assigned

Provide real companionship — not phone time

Report changes in the client's condition to the office

Follow the care plan, agency policies, and Pennsylvania home-care rules

Clock in/out and document visits as required Minimum requirements 18 or older and authorized to work in the U.S.

High school diploma or GED preferred

Valid PA driver's license, current auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle

Able to pass required PA screenings before client contact: PATCH criminal history, FBI fingerprint check if you have not lived in PA for the prior two years, TB test, and drug screen

Able to communicate clearly in English with clients, families, and the office

Able to assist with mobility and personal care (lift/transfer as the care plan requires, up to about 50 lbs with proper technique)

Dependable and on time, including some weekends as cases require

Prior caregiving, CNA, HHA, STNA, or family-care experience is helpful but not required — we train the right person Preferred CNA, STNA, HHA, or other personal-care training

CPR / First Aid

Dementia or Alzheimer's experience

Live in the South Hills / northern Washington County so travel between visits is practical What we offer One-to-one work that helps people stay at home
