Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Shared Housing Caregiver to join our team, providing high-quality care and support to residents in a shared living environment. In this vital role, you will promote independence, ensure safety, and foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere for individuals with diverse needs, including those with cognitive disabilities, dementia, or requiring assisted living support. Your energy and expertise will help create a positive community where residents feel valued, respected, and cared for every day. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and record vital signs regularly to ensure residents' health stability Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities Provide specialized care for residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive disabilities, employing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies Support safe patient lifting practices and manual handling to prevent injury during transfers or repositioning Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area Engage residents through meaningful activities, socialization, and group support to promote mental well-being Requirements Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home, or residential care environments with a focus on geriatrics or memory care Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and behavior management techniques Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles safely for transportation needs when required Certification in CPR and First Aid is essential; ongoing training preferred Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with manual handling tasks safely Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is highly desirable Prior long-term care or home & community care experience is a plus Join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents!
