Description Description:
- Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, uses, repair and maintenance as they relate to the sheet metal cutting and bending / forming functions.
- Operates press punches and press brakes for forming and bending, lasers for cutting sheet metal, and rolls for forming and spot-welder for joining sheet metal. Will use multiple machines, be comfortable with set up and operation of press brake or punch press machines, examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications.
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate records and reports and they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Requirements/ Qualifications:
- Knowledge of blueprints to determine required cutting and forming methods and equipment.
- Able to interpret prints and be able to verify conformance of finished product to the print.
- Able to layout, position, and form parts, components or structures according to specifications.
Job Skills/Abilities:
- Use of a variety of hand tools.
- Understanding of shop math, the ability to read and interpret blue prints, and reading micrometers, calipers and tape measure.
- Push/pull/ lift 10-40 lbs of materials
- Good hand/eye coordination
- Manual dexterity
- Able to bend, stretch, twist or reach
- Mechanically inclined
- Self-motivated (independent)
- Able to operate crane and forklifts as needed.
