Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Care Staff/Companion; Personal Support, where your compassionate nature and commitment to quality care will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance, promote independence, and ensure safety and well-being across various care settings. Whether supporting seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those navigating memory care challenges such as Alzheimer's or dementia, your energy and attentiveness will foster a nurturing environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while making a positive impact every day. Duties Companionship and social interaction — talking, playing games, watching TV, reading, and participating in appropriate activities. Community activities — accompanying the individual to stores, parks, recreational activities, appointments, libraries, restaurants, and other approved community outings. Safety and supervision — monitoring the individual and helping prevent unsafe situations. Assistance with daily routines — providing appropriate support with activities such as organizing personal belongings and following daily schedules Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home health environments is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately Hands-on experience with patient care tasks such as assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and mobility support Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory-related conditions such as Alzheimer's or dementia is advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Certifications in CPR and First Aid are required; additional certifications such as hospice care or home & community care are a plus Join us in providing compassionate support that empowers individuals to live their best lives.
