Based in Anderson, South Carolina, we offer residential, foster, in-home, and transportation services throughout the state. Since 1995, New Foundations has been nationally accredited through the Council on Accreditation for Children and Families. Position Overview We are hiring a full-time Direct Care Staff member for our 3rd shift team. This position provides direct care, supervision, and support to clients in a safe, structured environment that encourages growth, appropriate behavior, and personal success. • Create and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for clients.
• Provide direct supervision of clients during on-campus and off-campus activities.
• Engage clients in recreational, educational, social, and group activities.
• Support positive behavior development and use therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Document client behavior, daily counseling notes, incident reports, medication logs, and required checklists before the end of each shift.
• Participate in care team meetings as requested and provide input about client progress and needs.
• Communicate safety concerns immediately to a supervisor, including client safety and environmental safety concerns.
• Follow all New Foundations policies and procedures while acting on behalf of the agency.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and comply with DSS regulatory and agency insurance requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Additional 3rd Shift Responsibilities
• Remain awake and alert throughout the shift.
• Complete four bed checks per hour at random and reasonably spaced intervals.
• Enter client rooms with a flashlight to confirm clients are in bed and document each bed check.
• Remain in camera view when possible and stay positioned where bedrooms are visible.
• Maintain appropriate lighting for staff identification.
• Do not leave the pod or clients unsupervised. Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of social service program experience preferred.
• Practical knowledge of emotional and behavioral needs of children and adolescents preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to intervene effectively in a crisis.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets agency requirements.
• Must complete and pass required background checks before hire and annually thereafter, including criminal history checks, DSS Central Registry checks for child abuse or neglect, and state and federal sex offender registry checks.

Pay:

$13.75 - $14.75 per hour
