Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Aide to support individuals with developmental disabilities in Welford, SC. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, patience, and experience working with children and adults with special needs. As a Personal Care Aide, you will work closely with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver tailored care in a respectful and supportive environment. Duties Assist individuals with daily living activities such as grooming, bathing, dressing, and mobility support. Provide behavioral management strategies tailored to clients with autism spectrum disorders and other behavioral challenges. Support educational activities by aiding in curriculum implementation aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Facilitate communication using techniques such as American Sign Language or other augmentative communication methods when appropriate. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while documenting progress and incidents accurately. Offer physical assistance during classroom activities or community outings to ensure safety and engagement for students with disabilities. Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or other special needs. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices. Proficiency in classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies for students with behavioral disorders. Strong communication skills, including writing reports and documenting student progress clearly. Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, and math instruction tailored for special education settings. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support student success. Experience supporting classroom support activities in private or special education environments. Basic math skills for assisting with educational tasks involving numeracy concepts. Compassionate childcare skills developed through preschool or toddler care experience.
