Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving, particularly in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide personal care services while maintaining the dignity and respect of each individual. Monitor and document vital signs as needed and report any changes in health status to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider. Administer medications according to prescribed guidelines and ensure compliance with medication schedules. Support individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia care, and Alzheimer's care by implementing behavior management strategies as required. Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning and laundry. Utilize EMR systems for accurate documentation of care provided and resident progress. Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Drive clients to appointments or community activities as needed. Requirements Previous experience in senior care, long-term care, or home & community care is preferred. Knowledge of first aid procedures and CPR certification is a plus. Familiarity with working with people with disabilities and understanding their unique needs is essential. Experience in memory care settings or retirement homes is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
