Experienced Special Needs Caregiver Needed - Union, SC After-School Hours 12 Hours Per Week Autism Experience Immediate Start From The Heart Home Care is urgently seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate caregiver for a special needs child assignment in Union, SC . This client is a child with autism who needs a caregiver during after-school hours . We are looking for someone who understands that special-needs care is more than supervision—the caregiver should be patient, interactive, attentive, and willing to learn the child's individual routines and communication needs. Schedule After-School Hours Approximately 12 Hours Per Week Specific days and shift times will be discussed during the interview process. Client Care & Responsibilities Provide attentive one-on-one care and supervision Assist with established after-school routines Actively engage and interact with the child Provide age-appropriate activities and companionship Use patience, consistency, and positive redirection Assist with personal care and daily living needs as required by the care plan Encourage appropriate independence and participation Recognize and respond appropriately to the child's individual communication needs Maintain a calm, structured, and safe environment Follow the family's established routines and the client's plan of care Communicate appropriately with the family and office regarding care needs or concerns What We're Looking For Professional caregiving experience required Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities strongly preferred Patient and comfortable with redirection and repetitive routines Able to actively engage with a child rather than simply supervise Dependable, compassionate, caring, and reliable Strong communication skills Able to consistently commit to the agreed-upon after-school schedule Reliable transportation strongly preferred Must be able to reliably commute to Union, SC
